Google is rolling out a significant update to its AI productivity tools. A new feature within Gemini Canvas can now read and interpret any document or report and automatically generate a complete, polished Google Slides presentation from the content.
This tool is designed to eliminate hours of tedious, manual formatting. The AI understands the structure of your text, creating a logical slide deck with titles, section breaks, and even relevant visuals to make the presentation more engaging.
This update is a major step in Google’s vision for an AI-powered workspace. It moves Gemini beyond a simple writing assistant to a true productivity partner that can handle complex, multi-app tasks.
The workflow is seamless. After the AI generates the presentation in Canvas, it can be exported to Google Slides with a single click. This allows for easy refinement, customization, and collaboration.
The feature is currently in the process of rolling out globally. It is available for both personal Google accounts and Workspace users, with Gemini Advanced (Pro) subscribers reportedly getting the first access. A wider rollout is expected soon.
